YARN DESCRIPTION:
100% Shetland Wool;

GAUGE DATA:
Gauge (Stocking stitch over 4 in = 10 cm): 30.5 sts by 44.0 rows.
Body knit by Silver Reed SK280 using TD6
Ribbing knit by Silver Reed SK280 using TD3

Note: Read ALL these instructions thoroughly BEFORE starting to knit. There may be sections where there are two shapings to work at the same time (such as necklines or waist shaping). The pattern may call for more needles than you have on your machine.

NOTE: At most, 148 needles are required to make the body of this garment; but the collar/hood needs 170 needles.

BACK:
1. Cast on 148 sts in MY, using TD3 and closed edge method. Work in 1×1 rib for 32 rows. COR.
2. Change to TD6 and Stocking stitch, RC000. Work 130 rows. COR.
3. Armhole shaping. Cast off 8 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. COR. Dec 1 st at each end of every alternate row for 22 rows. Total 154 rows with 110 sts remaining. Continue until 220 rows total, with 110 sts remaining.
4. Shape neck. COR. Thread center 60 sts to WY. 25 sts each side.
5. Right neck. LH needles in HP. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 5 times, until 20 sts remain. At row 220, at the same time, start shoulder shaping.
6. Shoulder shaping. Cast off 6 sts at armhole edge, then cast off 7 sts at armhole edge twice. Total 225 or 226 rows.
7. Left neck. COL. Work as for right neck, reversing shapings.

FRONT:
1-2 Follow steps 1 and 2 as for back. COR.
3. Armhole. Dec for armhole at both ends, as for back. Continue until 192 rows total, with 110 sts remaining.
4. Shape neck. COR. Thread center 44 sts to WY. 33 sts each side.
5. Right neck. LH needles in HP. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 13 times, until 20 sts remain. Then work 15 row(s) even. Total 220 rows.
6. Shoulder shaping. Cast off as for back.
7. Left neck. COL. Work as for right neck, reversing shapings.

SLEEVES:
1. Cast on 92 sts in MY, using TD3 and closed edge method. Work in 1×1 rib for 14 rows. COR.
2. Change to TD6 and Stocking stitch, RC000.
3. Inc 1 st at each end of every 7th row 3 times, then every 8th row twice to 102 sts (37 rows total).
4. Work even to total 44 rows. COR.
5. Shape cap. Cast off 8 sts at beg of next two rows (86 sts rem). Dec 1 st at each end of every 2nd row 9 times, then dec 1 st at each end of every 3rd row 10 times, then dec 1 st at each end of every 2nd row 9 times. Total 112 rows. COR. Cast off remaining 30 sts loosely.

LEFT SHOULDER SEAM:
1. Sew front to back along left shoulder seam.

BALLET FRONT NECK SINGLE BAND COLLAR:
1. Bring out 170 needles to HP. With wrong side of work facing, rehang 5 sts from right back neck edge, 60 sts from back neck holder, 5 sts from left back neck edge, 28 sts from left front neck edge, 44 sts from front neck holder and 28 sts from right front neck edge. Hang weights. Push needles to FWP, latches open. Use TD3 with COR.
2. Work 14 rows. Convert to 1×1 rib. Cast off loosely.

FINISHING:
1. Sew sleeve top to armhole, easing to fit. Sew side and sleeve seams. Sew any remaining seams.
2. Darn/weave/sew in all loose ends.
